Literally, full stop. The name of this restaurant gets a full line of its own on this blog post to just hang there and reverberate for the elevated meal that we didn't think was feasible as take-out.
Gather convinced all of us that fine dining can indeed be achieved even as meals "to go" and better yet within the given KE parameters of $60+ meal that could feed a family of 4.
Regardless of what you order from a restaurant as carry out, it's almost a given that the food won't look or taste as how it's meant to be served in the restaurant. It's been sloshed around in plastic or cardboard containers, the food isn't the right temp and while you could heat it up again - it just not the same.
Well, at least you didn't have to think about what to cook, you didn't have to actually cook and you supported a local restaurant, right? But then, came Gather.
"The crisp, beautiful brown chicken is elevated by the perfectly burnt lemon wedges..,." said a KE participant through a mouthful of this restaurant's signature dish.
Yup, that happened. And now even two weeks after Gather, we're still hearing comments like the"romesco sauce had just the right amount of heat." Hey, Gather! We know you didn't choose your name based on KE, but you should know that you have succeeded in doing just that - drawing a group, our group, to you. We will be back.
