Mild Spicy for the Kids?

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

Larb Thai was incredibly organized and easy to work with! In prep for the pickup of 16 meals (that's right, 16 meals!), every dish was neatly packaged and labeled and thank goodness because it actually saved us from a major snafu when we accidentally delivered the wrong meal! Whoops! Upon opening the bag, our KE member could clearly see “Pork Pad Thai” & “Chicken Skewers” labels and was able to catch us before we drove off!  Phew!

For spicy foods, asking for mild has typically been our M.O. so we don’t burn/bum out families who don’t like heat, but we must admit that asking for the hot sauce on the side really does a disservice to certain dishes. We believe that the heat factor is part of the flavor and experience, so this time we decided to go for "mild spicy" and it really made a difference. The chicken larb was excellent! Just the right amount of spice to make us (including the kids) sweat a little!

For both the meat and vegetarian meals, we included the Kabocha Pumpkin Curry, perhaps because it was the Thursday before Halloween, but it really hit the spot!  A savory, bold flavor with the fun texture of pumpkin!  Larb Thai also got rave reviews from the families that ordered the vegetarian option. Many of them said that the Coconut Tofu Soup was excellent, so we were left with a bit of food envy.

Then again, that's part of the whole concept of KENSINGTON EATS, right? There's a whole week between the next KE, which means plenty of time to go back to Larb Thai and order that Coconut Tofu Soup and perhaps try some other dishes while we're at it!

"We didn't order it for Kensington Eats, but my favorite dish there is the fried rice," commented Cole.

If you had an opportunity to try KE's Larb Thai menu, tell us what you thought! What was your favorite? What will you order again? Got pictures to share? Send them our way! If you missed this KE, check out what we ordered below!
